"The Newer Man" is my half-size replica of Otto Freundlich's "Der Neue Mensch" of 1912, which was also made of plaster.

A photograph of Freundlich's piece was featured on the cover of the brochure of Hitler's "Degenerate Art" exhibition. His sculpture was destroyed when the exhibition concluded in 1938.
